ENGRAVE PRIVACY POLICY Last updated: August 8, 2026 Engrave is an app for memorizing passages of the Bible. This policy explains what it collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: Engrave collects the small amount of information it needs to keep your memorization progress in sync across your devices and to let you share that progress with friends if you choose to. There is no advertising, no analytics, no tracking, and nothing is sold to anyone. You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app at any time. 1. WHO WE ARE -------------- Engrave ("we", "us") is the provider of the Engrave mobile application. You can reach us at ezrawademusic@gmail.com. 2. WHAT WE COLLECT ------------------- Information you give us when you create an account: - Your email address. Used to sign you in, to recover your account, and to contact you if something goes wrong with the service. We do not send marketing email. - Your password. Stored only as a salted cryptographic hash by our authentication provider. We never see or store your actual password. - A display name. Shown to friends and to members of any group you join. It can be anything you like and does not have to be your real name. Information created as you use the app: - The passages you are memorizing, including the reference, the translation you chose, and the text of those verses. - Your progress: which phase you are in, how many read-throughs you have completed, which verses you have learned, and the dates you practiced. - Your streak and your totals. - Whether you tapped to reveal a verse during a review. This is used only to decide what to show you next. Information created only if you use the social features: - Friendships you request or accept, and the invite code that connects them. - Groups you create or join, and which passage a group is working through. Engrave does not collect your location, your contacts, your photos, your device identifiers for advertising, or any biometric data. It contains no analytics or crash-reporting software of any kind. 3. WHAT WE DO NOT DO --------------------- - We do not sell your personal information. We never have and we will not. - We do not share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics companies. - We do not use your information to train machine learning models. - We do not track you across other apps or websites. - We do not show advertising. 4. WHAT OTHER PEOPLE CAN SEE ----------------------------- This is worth being precise about, because it is the part people care most about. If you add a friend, or join a group, those people can see: - Your display name. - Which passage you are working on and which phase you are in. - How far through it you are, as a percentage. - Your current streak. They cannot see: - The text of any verse as you have practiced it. - Whether you revealed a verse, or how many times. - Your email address. - Anything about passages you have not shared with them. This is enforced on our servers, not in the app. The database functions that answer "how is my friend doing" are written to return only the fields listed above; there is no request the app could make that would return more. You can remove a friend or leave a group at any time, which ends that access immediately. 5. SCRIPTURE TEXT AND BIBLE PUBLISHERS --------------------------------------- Engrave shows Bible text from six translations. Some of that text comes from publishers who license it to us through their own interfaces: - English Standard Version, provided by Crossway. - New International Version, provided by Biblica through API.Bible. - New American Standard Bible 1995, provided by The Lockman Foundation through API.Bible. - Berean Standard Bible, King James Version and World English Bible, which are in the public domain or freely licensed. When you add a passage, our own server requests that text on your behalf. The publisher receives a request for a passage; it does not receive your email address, your display name, your account, or any identifier that points back to you. Once the text has been fetched it is stored on your device so that the app keeps working without a connection. 6. WHERE YOUR INFORMATION LIVES -------------------------------- Account and progress data is stored using Supabase, which hosts it on Amazon Web Services infrastructure in the United States. Supabase processes this data on our behalf and is not permitted to use it for its own purposes. A copy of your passages and progress is also stored on your own device so the app works offline. Removing the app removes that copy. 7. HOW LONG WE KEEP IT ----------------------- We keep your information for as long as your account exists. 8. DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT ------------------------- You can delete your account from inside the app: open Profile, scroll to the Account section, and tap "Delete account". You will be asked to confirm. Deletion is immediate and permanent. It removes your account, your profile, every passage and verse you have stored, all of your progress and daily records, your friendships and your group memberships. The copy held on your device is erased at the same time. We cannot recover a deleted account. If you want to keep a record of what you have memorized, write it down before you delete. If you would rather ask us to delete your account than do it yourself, email ezrawademusic@gmail.com from the address on the account and we will do it. 9. YOUR RIGHTS --------------- Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to receive a copy of it in a portable form, and to object to how we use it. You can exercise the most important of these — deletion — yourself, in the app. For anything else, email ezrawademusic@gmail.com and we will respond within thirty days. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our lawful basis for processing your information is the performance of our agreement with you: we cannot provide an app that syncs your progress without storing your progress. 10. CHILDREN ------------- Engrave is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will delete it. 11. SECURITY ------------- Connections between the app and our servers are encrypted in transit. Passwords are hashed. Access to production data is limited to the developer. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will tell you. 12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY --------------------------- If we change this policy in a way that materially affects what we collect or who can see it, we will update the date at the top and note the change in the app before it takes effect. 13. CONTACT ------------ Questions about this policy, or about your information: Email: ezrawademusic@gmail.com
